Dishwasher installation and repair
Cabinet cut-outs, water supply, drain connection with a high loop or air gap so waste water cannot siphon back, and securing the unit to the counter so it does not tip when the loaded bottom rack rolls out. Dishwashers that will not drain are usually a blocked filter or a kinked hose rather than a dead pump.
Dryer repair and vent installation
Rigid or semi-rigid ducting on the shortest sensible run to the exterior, with the flapper vent clear. Flexible foil ducting crushed behind a dryer is a genuine fire risk and it is one of the most common things we find. We also clear packed vent runs and replace worn belts and rollers.
Refrigerator repair
Water line hook-ups for ice makers and dispensers, door alignment and gasket replacement, and levelling so the doors self-close. Fridges that run warm are often a blocked condenser coil or a failed door seal, both of which are worth checking before anyone talks about a compressor.
Washing machine repair
Supply and drain hook-ups, levelling feet set so the machine does not walk across the floor on a spin cycle, and replacing perished inlet hoses. Braided stainless hoses are worth the small upgrade because a burst rubber hose in a second-floor laundry is an expensive morning.
Microwave and over-range installation
Over-the-range microwaves fitted to the mounting plate with the cabinet drilled for the cord and the vent set to either recirculate or duct outside, depending on what the kitchen actually has. These units are heavy and awkward overhead, which is why so many people leave the old one in place.
Window and portable AC setup
Window units fitted with proper support and a sealed surround so you are not cooling the outdoors, and portable units vented cleanly through a window kit. We also take them out and store them at the end of the season, which is the job everyone puts off until it is snowing.
