Door installation and repair
Interior and exterior doors, prehung units and slab replacements into existing frames. A door that catches at the top corner is usually a hinge or a settled frame rather than a swollen door, so we shim and reset before anyone starts planing material off a door that will shrink back in the summer.

Storm and screen doors fitted square to the opening, with the closer set so the door does not slam in a January wind or hang open in July. We also swap tired storm door glass and screen inserts, which is far cheaper than replacing the whole unit when the frame is still sound.

We also fix the far more common problem of a bolt that will not throw, which is nearly always a strike plate that has moved rather than a failed lock.

Sash balances, cranks and operators on casement windows, torn screens, failed weatherstripping and sliders that will not run. If a sealed unit has fogged, the glass has failed and we will say so, because no amount of adjustment fixes a blown seal.

Off-track rollers, worn hinges, loose bottom seals, misaligned safety sensors and openers that need re-limiting. We do the mechanical and hardware side. Torsion spring work we leave to a specialist, because those springs hold enough stored energy to seriously injure someone, and a handyman should not be touching them.
